Customs Clearance

Upon importing or exporting products, a customs declaration is an imperative part for international shipping purposes. Reliable, efficient and accurate declarations are critical to ensuring a freight handlers customs clearance ability.

We ensure accurate declarations with an excellent record at China Customs so as to avoid delays, where possible. We don't risk our clients' products nor our reputation and only work with reputable importers/exports - we don't provide fraudulent or inaccurate declarations.

Export Process (out of China)

The Your China Guy (YCG) team is familiar and experienced with the export process out of China and we have outlined this below for prospective clients.

Client confirms necessary contract with foreign company (can be own);
Sign an export agency contract with YCG and our subsidiaries so that we can act on your behalf.;
Confirm HS code for the goods and necessary regulatory conditions;
YCG receives payment from foreign company (can take up to 7 working days);
Client provides customer specifications for export goods and supplier (factory) details to YCG;
YCG will prepare necessary exportation documents, arrange shipping, bill exchange/export declaration and check export goods;
YCG audits bill of lading and arrange negotiable documentation;
Client checks all documents & provides corresponding payment;
YCG receives final payment of all costs from foreign company abroad (can take between 3 to 7 working days);
YCG will thereafter issue a VAT invoice after pre-recording Customs declaration information;
Client will make a VAT invoice for YCG;
YCG will audit the VAT invoice verfication and provide a refund of the tax;

Import Process (into China)

The Your China Guy (YCG) team is familiar and experienced with the import process into China and we have outlined this below for prospective clients.

Finalize pricing, trade contracts, pick-up or drop-off location and payment terms. YCG can assist with these services.
Sign a import agency contract with YCG and our subsidiaries so that we can act on your behalf.;
HS code is confirmed in regards to products being imported as well as necessary certifications where required (commodity inspections, mechanical/electrical certifications, heavy machinery etc.);
Arrange payment according to contractual terms;
Client provides specifications and receipts to YCG - we will prepare corresponding documents, provide information and necessary details where required;
YCG will arrange and prepare necessary import documents according to requirements;
YCG will provide recommendations for logistic channels and arrange logistics company to transport goods where required (wooden packaging needs certification of fumigation and IPPC mark);
Arrange customs clearance according to document provided by foreign supplier - typically this takes between 3 to 5 working days to process goods;
Following customs clearance - ship or transport to necessary address;

Import Timeframes

Air Shipments: Between 2 - 4 working days;
Sea shipments: Typically Between 3 - 7 working days (assuming shipping documents have been provided in advance);
